KENNEWICK, Wash. — Tri-City Americans fans needn't worry that general manager Bob Tory is leaving the team.
A job posting for Tory's job appeared on the Columbia Basin WorkSource website a few days ago, prompting questions of Tory's intentions.
His intentions are clear. He is applying for a green card, and the Western Hockey League club is following the advice of counsel to make that happen.
"This is, in my opinion, a non-event," said Dennis Loman, the club's alternate governor. "It is a required posting for purposes of immigration. It is a fairly orchestrated process, and we are following instructions from our immigration attorney. To prove there is a position, it has to be posted for purposes to see if there are other qualified applicants."
