Nachbaur to coach Team WHL at SUBWAY Super Series

October 22, 2012

Spokane Chiefs coach Don Nachbaur will coach Team WHL in next month’s SUBWAY Super Series in British Columbia.

Nachbaur will be behind the bench Nov. 14 in Vancouver and Nov. 15 in Victoria. He will be assisted by Edmonton Oil Kings head coach Derek Laxdal in both games.

Vancouver Giants coach Don Hay will be an assistant for the game in Vancouver, while Victoria Royals coach Dave Lowry will help out in Victoria.

Nachbaur, who coached the Tri-City Americans for six seasons, has been with Spokane since 2010. Hay also is a former Ams head coach.

The SUBWAY Super Series, a six-game event in which regional teams of CHL All-Stars face the Russian National Junior Team, is a part of Team Canada’s identification process before the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.
