KENNEWICK, Wash. -- What if you were told that you can expect a forecast of snow Oct. 27 in downtown Kennewick?

The Tire Factory/Sporthaus TC Throwdown competition is closing down South Cascade Street and bringing in snow for a ski and snowboard exposition.

The event will draw amateur and pro ski and snowboard riders from across the Northwest to compete in a rail jam competition from 3 to 10 p.m.

Families and snow enthusiasts are invited to explore the snow-sport related vendor booths such as Burton, K2, Mad Monkey Board Shop and more.

There will be give-aways throughout the amateur and pro competitions, with a live DJ and a large projection screen streaming live footage from the competition.

There also will be a premiere of the Burton snowboard video between the action.

The highlight of the evening will be the pro event when the winner of the snowboard and ski divisions face off to answer an age-old question.

Which is better, skiing or snowboarding?

Thousands of dollars of snow-related products will be given away, including snowboards, a season pass, goggles, helmets, jackets and more.
