1983: Tracy Kasselder of Pasco knocked out Jim Sharp of the Everett Firefighters 34 seconds into the second round to win the Region 17 American Boxing Federation tournament.

1954: The Sunnyside Grizzlies eked out a narrow 21-20 home victory over Kennewick in a Yakima Valley Southern Division contest that ended with the Lions officials arguing bitterly about the alleged "heavy hand" of the Sunnyside timekeeper.
