1997: Hanford swimming was handed a Mid-Valley League victory over Selah without getting wet as the parents of the Vikings team decided not to send the team because George Prout Pool is an outdoor facility.

1986: The fifth-ranked Kamiakin football team outgained the Coeur d'Alene Vikings -- ranked No. 2 in Idaho -- 193-149 in yards from scrimmage but came away with a 7-7 tie after David Brand's 37-yard field goal attempt fell short with six seconds left at Kennewick High School Stadium.
