Simon Property Group and the Columbia Center mall are staging Girl's Night Out on Thursday, a three-hour event featuring Mercer Estates winemaker Jessica Munnell, comedian Craig Gass and activities to help raise breast cancer awareness.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. and include retailers offering deals and samples. The wine pouring by Munnell -- a Richland High School grad -- begins at 6:30 p.m. at the food court.

Gass' performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. He has appeared on Sex and the City, Comedy Central, Howard Stern and American Dad.

"It is important for women to enjoy vibrant personal relationships with other women," said Simon Property Group spokeswoman Patricia Bardin. "I encourage women to wear their favorite pink apparel in recognition of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. "
