Safety first

LAURIE DEWITT, Kennewick

I would like to thank the gentleman in the white pickup truck who stopped me as I was walking one recent morning on Vancouver Street in Kennewick.

I walk every morning, and on this morning, he stopped me and said, "I see you walking every morning, and I want to give you this." At first, I was hesitant but soon realized it was an orange safety vest. What a kind gesture and one I won't soon forget. His kindness was not necessary and something that I hope to pay forward.
