HERMISTON -- Howard LeRoy Alphonso, 72, died Oct. 2 at home in Hermiston.

He was born in Astoria, Ore., and was a longtime Hermiston resident.

He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad.

Burns Mortuary, Hermiston, is in charge of arrangements.
