WWCC fundraiser to hail wine, culinary alumni

WALLA WALLA -- Walla Walla Community College scheduled its ninth annual Entwine Grand Auction and dinner fundraiser for its winemaking and culinary programs Oct. 13 at the Dietrich Dome in Walla Walla.

This year, the enology/viticulture graduates to be honored include Alfredo Arredondo of Cave B Estate Winery in Quincy, Elizabeth Bourcier and Laura Pursley of Cayuse Vineyards in Walla Walla, Victor Palencia, Jones of Washington in Quincy; and Steven Thompson of Analemma Wines in Mosier, Ore.

The culinary arts graduates to be honored include Jen Contreras, sous chef at Colville Street Patisserie in Walla Walla; Paul Freeman, chef/owner of The Bank & Grill Catering Co., in Milton-Freewater, Ore.; Norm Shaw, executive chef of Blue Mountain Caf and St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton, Ore.; and Kristin Swaggart, assistant director of nutrition services for Kennewick School District.
