1997: Rachel Grant had 17 kills and three blocks and Heather Desmarais added 11 kills and four blocks to lead Columbia Basin College to a 15-2, 15-11, 5-15, 15-8 victory over Walla Walla in Pasco, giving the Hawks sole possession of second in the NWAACC East Division.

1983: Cheryl Heinen served five straight points and added two kills to spark a second game comeback for Connell as the Eagles overcame a 15-9 loss to defeat DeSales 15-0 and 15-4 and win their first Yakima Valley A league volleyball match of the season.

1954: There was no joy in Kennewick as the invading Hermiston Bulldogs football team scored four first-half touchdowns and went on to defeat the Lions 32-7.
