Lillian and Lester Thompson of Kennewick celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary Sept. 29 with an open house at the Kennewick Grange on Union St.

They were married Sept. 29, 1937, at the Methodist Church in Clarksville, Texas. They moved from Malta, Idaho, to this area in 1976.

Lillian worked at K-Mart from 1976-82 before retiring.

Lester had a large farm in Malta, Idaho, and served on the board of directors for OreIda and Raft River Rural Electric. In 1968 he was the largest sugar beet producer for U&I sugar. He retired in 1982.

They are members of the Cathedral of Joy Catholic Church in Kennewick.

They have three children, Phil Thompson of Kennewick; Nick Thompson of Kennewick and Sherry Armstrong of Alamagordo, N.M.

They have 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
