UMATILLA -- The Oregon Corrections Department has released the name of the 48-year-old inmate who died last weekend at a northeast Oregon prison.

The Oregonian reported that Antonio Ruiz had been in custody since December 2003 after a conviction in Washington County on sex abuse charges. His earliest possible release date was in February 2016.

State police continue to investigate the death at the Two Rivers Correctional Institution in Umatilla.

Corrections officials say Ruiz was found dead about 10 p.m. Saturday in a general population housing unit.
