Thank you Tri-City Herald for the wonderful articles on local agriculture. As a third-generation resident of the area, many of the crops were familiar to me. I was fascinated to learn about others I had no idea were grown locally, such as chickpeas. ("Mmm, hummus!") Only one thing could have improved the series. Though not marketable, the scent of ripening Concord grapes on a cool fall evening is surely the most beautiful aroma produced by nature! Too bad it can't be savored without being there. Thanks again for a fine job.
