Kirsten Calmus scored three goals and had an assist to lead Richland past Chiawana 4-1 on Tuesday in a Mid-Columbia Conference showdown at Bomber Field.

With the win, the Bombers move into sole possession of second place in the standings behind Kamiakin and took over first place among the 4A schools.

"It was a big win for us tonight," said Richland coach Sara Elfering. "Kirsten was a force tonight. It was something we knew she could do. She stepped up really big in this game."

Andes Archibald opened the scoring for the Bombers just 10 minutes into the game, and Calmus scored her first goal at the 35-minute mark.

Chiawana's Lexi Miller pulled the Riverhawks within 2-1 with a goal at 43 minutes, but Calmus scored the next two goals to put the game away.
