Farmers warned to be wary with soil fumigation

By the Tri-City HeraldOctober 2, 2012

The weather is causing the Washington State Department of Agriculture to urge farmers to be careful when applying soil fumigation in Eastern Washington.

According to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency label restrictions, fumigant applicators need to be aware of air conditions and weather forecasts before work begins.

The general number for label advice at WSDA headquarters in Olympia is 360-902-2040.
