1997: Richland, coming off a 7-2 victory over the Kamiakin Braves, received two first-place votes in the Associated Press' first prep football poll of the season. The Bombers were ranked second behind No. 1 Puyallup.

1966: Jeff Copenhaver scored two touchdowns, passed for another and kicked three extra points to highlight Kiona-Benton's 45-0 demolition of the visiting Mabton Vikings. The Bears streaked to a 33-0 halftime lead in the Little Seven Conference matchup. Meanwhile, Davis waltzed to a 41-0 thumping of host Kennewick in a Big Eight Conference contest. By this point in the 1966 season, the winless Lions had allowed 101 points.
