Kirsten Calmus had a goal and an assist to lead a varied Richland attack as the Bombers scored a 5-0 win on Kennewick on Saturdya in a Mid-Columbia soccer match at Lampson Stadium.

Five different players had goals for the Bombers, with assists from four other players.

"What was different today is that a lot of those girls that scored or assisted on goals were young players," said Richland coach Sara Elfering. "You always love to see them contribute when they do get the chance for some varsity minutes. They were pretty excited."

Calmus started the scoring in the 12th minute, but the Bombers went 40 minutes before notching another goal.

"Credit to Kennewick -- they played a really organized game," Elfering said.

Kamiakin 4, Walla Walla 0: Ellie Heiden scored twice, and Heather Donais had a goal and two assists to lead the Braves past the Blue Devils in Walla Walla.

Kamiakin coach Chris Erikson was pleased with the team effort that helped her young squad stay unbeaten.

"We've had to meet a lot of challenges, and they're rising to the occasion," Erikson said. "They're gaining confidence with each game."

Prosser 3, Othello 0: Kaitlin Maddox assisted a pair of her teammates for scores in the first half, then added one of her own in the second as the Mustangs took a CWAC match on the road.

East Valley 4, Grandview 2: Salome Yates scored a pair of goals and the Red Devils finally pulled away in the end of a CWAC thriller in Yakima.

Twice the Greyhounds answered East Valley scores, both times off the foot of Oryian Matheny.

"We ended up on the wrong end of it, but it was a great game," said Grandview coach Anne Holden. "Every time they thought they had broken us, back we came. It was really exciting."
