Whether youre a bird watcher or a waterfowl hunter, the first cool crisp mornings of late summer bring about the excitement of whats to come fall, then winter and the early morning sounds of whistling wings as migrating ducks and geese from the Canadian prairies in the Pacific Flyway descend upon local fields and waterways on their seasonal journey south. Until then plenty of waterfowl can be found near the ponds and rivers of the Mid-Columbia. PAUL T. ERICKSON
