Fines up to $1,000 await the increasing number of pilots who fly unauthorized over the restricted Hanford atomic works, the Civil Aeronautics official warned.

The violators included two commercial planes that were heavily fined by the CAA. Several military aircraft have also been caught. The presidential order prohibiting such flights was put into place in February 1948.
