2 people, 1 from Kennewick, hospitalized after early morning shooting

MILTON-FREEWATER, Ore. -- A Kennewick woman and a Milton-Freewater man were hospitalized Monday after an early morning shooting in Milton-Freewater.

Miguel Castaneda, 22, of Milton-Freewater, and Micheala Garcia, 21, of Kennewick remain at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla with non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release from the Umatilla County District Attorney's Office.

Milton-Freewater police responded to reports of shots fired at 1:30 a.m. Monday in the 900 block of North Elizabeth Street. One other person at the home had minor injuries, the release said.

No other information was released by authorities. The case is being investigated by the Umatilla/Morrow Major Crime Team.
