Anthony Beltner, who lives at 411 N. Dayton in Kennewick, has to climb up on the roof of his house to pick tomatoes off his vine, which grew more than 12 feet tall.

Normally this variety, Bonne Best, grows no more than three feet, said Beltner, but attributes its unusual growth to a secret solution he applied. He said the solution contains sugar.
