Close primary races certified on Tuesday The final canvass and count of ballots from the Aug. 7 primary for Franklin County's two commissioner races was certified Tuesday.

Brad Peck, incumbent for Position 1, will face Mark Faith, a county building inspector, on Nov. 6. Faith held a 31-vote lead over third-place finisher Rosie Rumsey, the county's human resources director.

Faith and Rumsey were at one point tied, but Faith began to pull ahead as last-minute mailed ballots started to be tallied.

Bob Koch, incumbent for Position 2, will run against Al Yenney, a Pasco city councilman.

The final counts showed Peck with 1,760 votes, or 51 percent, while Faith had 862 votes, or 25 percent. Rumsey held 831 votes, or 24 percent.

Rumsey and Faith would have needed to be separated by eight votes to trigger a recount, said county Auditor Matt Beaton.

Koch held 579 votes, or 32 percent, while Yenney finished with 532 votes, or 29 percent.
