Thomas D'Agostino, the Department of Energy undersecretary responsible for Hanford environmental cleanup, has canceled his planned trip to Hanford this week.

He planned to spend time at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and at the nuclear reservation, including announcing the opening of the 200 West Pump and Treat Facility in central Hanford.

Instead, Tracy Mustin, the DOE principal deputy assistant secretary for environmental management, will make the announcement Thursday.

The new plant, which recently started operating, is Hanford's largest plant for treating contaminated ground water. It will treat eight contaminants.
