Southridge's Randles throws 4-hitter at Western Nationals

Janelle Randles (Southridge) gave up four hits in eight innings to lead the Washington Angels 96 to a 1-0 victory against the NorCal Cruisers on Friday at the 18 Gold Western Nationals in Portland.

Carlie Richards (Kamiakin) drove in the lone run in the eighth.

The Angels play at 12:30 p.m. today against SBA MsStix (Des Moines), which beat them 5-2 on Thursday.

• The Washington Force 99 lost 8-4 to the Irvine Sting 2000 and was ousted from the 12U Western National Championship in Roseville, Calif., near Sacramento.

On Thursday, the Force fell 12-2 to the NorCal Smackers in the double-elimination bracket.

• The Tri-City Fuzion was bounced from the 10U “B” Western Nationals in Spokane after falling 14-2 to the Campbell (Calif.) Crush in a double-elimination bracket.

After a 7-2 loss Thursday to the Goleta (Calif.) Thunder, the Fuzion rebounded the next day with a 9-1 victory against Lady Osprey of Missoula.
