HYDROS: Final heat is set

Tri-City HeraldJuly 29, 2012

Led by the 1,180 points by Steve David and the U-1 Oh Boy! Oberto, the field is set for the final, which is set to run at 4 p.m.

Besides David and the Oberto, the rest of the field includes Jimmy Shane and the U-5 Graham Trucking, J. Michael Kelly and the U-37 Beacon Plumbing, Dave Villwock and the U-1 Spirit of Qatar 96, Scott Liddycoat and the 88 Degree Men, and the U-9 Les Schwab presents Sound Propeller Services.

Greg Hopp and the U-100 Leland Unlimited will be the trailer boat.

It will be interesting to see the jockeying for lanes before the race starts.

David, Kelly and Shane will likely try to grab that inside lane, with Villwock likely trying to go from the outside.

David still believes the guy to beat is Villwock, who has the horsepower.

"We have to be inside Dave (at the start)," said David. "And even then, they almost have to make a mistake like they did earlier today."
