Titans, Bandits split twinbill

July 18, 2012

Twin City’s Corey Morris, Connor Moore and Andrew Castillo contributed two RBIs apiece as the Titans edged Kennewick 9-6 in the nightcap to split a CWL Senior Legion twinbill Wednesday at Richland High School.

Kennewick won the first game 7-4, fueled in part by Conner O’Neil’s 2-for-4 performance at the plate that produced three RBIs.

Twin City’s Mason Hilty was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs in the opener.

“Today we came out and hit the ball and pitched it well,” Titans coach Pete Marquez said. “We really made things happen with our bats and controlled the second game. This was a battle between two pretty good teams.”

The Titans stand at 16-7 in league standings with one game remaining. The Bandits finish league play at 16-8.

Twin City will host the Yakima Valley Pepsi Pak (14-9) at 7:30 p.m. today at Richland High School.
