Whidbey's Phay edges Prugh for Rosauer's Open title

SPOKANE -- PGA pro David Phay finished with a 19-under-par 194 (62-64-68) to win the 25th Rosauers Open Invite at Indian Canyon GC in Spokane.

Phay, of Whidbey G&CC in Oak Harbor, birdied on the last hole to take a one-stroke victory over last year's champion, Manito G&CC pro Corey Prugh.

Phay's take of the $135,000 purse was $11,000, and Prugh earned $7,250.

Canyon Lakes' Michael Combs, listed as an amateur, finished at 202 (69-63-70) to feed into a three-way tie at 12th place and earn $300 in merchandise.
