WALLA WALLA — Bainbridge Island’s Carl Jonson and Shotaro Ban, of San Jose, Calif., will meet in the final match of the 111th Pacific Northwest Men’s Amateur Championship today.
The 36-hole final match play will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Walla Walla’s Wine Valley Golf Club.
In the semifinals Friday, Jonson defeated Gresham, Ore.’s Nick Chianello 1-up. He beat Seattle’s Blake Snyder 4 and 3 in the quarterfinals.
On the other side of the bracket, Ban defeated Jarred Bossio of Olympia in the quarterfinals 4 and 3, before dispatching Eugene’s Rak Cho 2 and 1 in the semifinals.

Rosauers Open
Blaine’s Jeff Coston and Oak Harbor’s David Phay are tied for the lead at the 25th Rosauers Open Invitational in Spokane.
The pair fired opening-round 62s and are 9-under par. Coston won the event in 1997, 2006 and 2008.
Hayden Lake, Idaho's Russell Grove is one shot back at 63, after posting three eagles at Indian Canyon Golf Course.
The second round tees off at 7:30 a.m. today with the final round Sunday.
