Softball: WA Force Black makes ASA state semifinals

The WA Force Black eked out two one-run victories Saturday to reach the semifinals of the ASA State 16U A/B Softball Tournament at the Southridge Sports and Events Complex.

Reilly Bramlett scored on a suicide squeeze by fellow Richland player Kayla Andrews in the bottom of the sixth to give the Force a 6-5 victory over the Ellensburg Synergy.

The Force then beat the NW Rage 8-7 after Danielle Tollison (Southridge) singled in Maddy Jones (Richland) in the bottom of the seventh.

The Force will play the Washington Patriots in the semifinals at 9:30 a.m. today.

In the consolation bracket, the WA Angels 96 got two RBIs from Hunter Schneitter (Kamiakin) to beat the Capitol Lady Outlaws 7-1.

The Angels dropped into the consolation bracket with a 2-1 loss to the NW Rage. Carlie Richards (Kamiakin) had three hits for the Angels.

On Friday, the Angels had a promising start to the tournament, recording a 3-2 win against Something Special.
