The Tri-City Americans signed this years third-round pick Braden Purtill to a standard WHL players contract.
Purtill, 15, was the Americans second pick overall in the May 3 WHL bantam draft, going 46th overall.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, played for the Winnipeg Sharks last season, scoring 33 goals with 21 assists in 48 games.
Braden is a highly skilled forward with very good speed and acceleration, Tri-City general manager Bob Tory said in a news release. He follows a long list of Winnipeg players who excelled in our program. He has a good shot and nose for the net. We are looking forward to his participation in our rookie camp and main camp, and will be given the option to participate in preseason action with our club.
