Fly-fishing event returns June 9 to Waterbrook Winery

The Walla2 Fly Fishers will return to Waterbrook Winery for a fourth year and stage a free clinic for all ages and all abilities.

WALLA WALLA -- The Walla² Fly Fishers club will partner with Waterbrook Winery again June 9 for the fourth annual Fly Fishing Day at the winery's pond.

The event runs 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and features a casual atmosphere for casters of all abilities. Festivities include fly-tying instruction, fly-casting classes, demonstrations of new Orvis gear by Bellevue resident Reggie Harris, Dutch Oven campfire cooking by John Spain and a competition led by the sponsoring Walla² Fly Fishers members.

Spain will prepare a four-course meal paired with wine made by John Freeman's team at Waterbrook, one of Walla Walla's oldest wineries. Tacos from chef Maria Carmona and wine tasting also are available.

Admission is free to all and all ages are welcome.
