2B/1B softball: DeSales advances to state semifinals

The DeSales softball team advanced to the 2B state semifinal, opening tournament play in Yakima with a 10-0 win over Pateros, and then defeating Colfax 9-5 in the quarterfinals.

The Irish play Pe Ell at noon today in the semifinals.

Dayton won its first game of the tournament, edging Warden 1-0.

But then the Bulldogs fell to Adna 10-0. Dayton plays Pateros in a consolation game at 10 a.m. today.

Waitsburg-Prescott lost 10-0 to Adna, then fell 13-3 to Warden.

Warden plays Colfax in a consolation game at 10 a.m. today.

1B softball

Touchet went 1-1 in the state tournament in Yakima.

The Indians beat Selkirk 11-1 before falling 5-4 to Almira-Coulee-Hartline in the semifinals.

Touchet plays Curlew in a consolation game at 2 p.m. today.
