Columbia Generation Station protests

Anti-nuclear activists from Portland protested outside the security gates of the Columbia Generating Station on Thursday, May 24, 2012, as Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire visited. The operating license for the nuclear power plant near Richland, Wash., has been extended through 2043. Protesters from Portland included Miriam German of No Nukes Northwest and Malcom Chaddock of Veterans for Peace.
