Pacheco has big day for Rockies

Colorado Rockies third baseman Jordan Pacheco is starting to get into a rhythm offensively. The former Tri-City Dust Devils catcher just hit his first major league home run.

Not a good day for the Colorado Rockies’ farm teams, who went winless in four games today, but it was a great day for former Tri-City Dust Devils catcher Jordan Pacheco.

Pacheco, who played for Tri-City in 2007 and 2008, got the start at third base and went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs in the Rockies’ 6-1 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. His big day also helped 49-year-old ageless wonder Jaime Moyer pick up his second win of the year and 269th of his career.

Pacheco drove in the first Rockies run with a ninth-round pick out of the University of New Mexico has gone 6-for-19 (.316) in his last 7 games.

Before too long, he might become a viable option for all you fantasy baseball players.
