Energy Northwest touts nuclear energy as clean

May 3, 2012

Energy Northwest has produced a 30-second TV announcement featuring its employees promoting nuclear energy as clean energy.

It operates the Columbia Generating Station, a nuclear power plant near Richland that produced 7,247 gigawatt hours of electricity in fiscal 2011.

"Energy Northwest and its employees want the region to understand the power from Columbia Generating Station is a vital part of the clean energy mix for the Northwest," said Rochelle Olson, public affairs manager.

The announcement will air mostly through contracts in the Seattle and Spokane areas.
