PULLMAN -- Freshman Tanner Chleborad blanked Utah for 7 2/3 innings and struck out eight as Washington State (18-14, 5-6 Pac-12) recorded a 6-0 shutout of Utah (9-25, 5-10) in Pullman.
* Jayce Ray's two-out, RBI single in the top of the ninth broke a 3-3 tie and led the Washington (18-15, 5-7 Pac-12) to a 5-3 victory over host California (19-15, 4-8).
* Brock Slavin hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning and Andy Hunter went the distance on the mound, lifting Gonzaga (25-9, 6-3 West Coast Conference) to a 4-1 home win over Santa Clara (18-15, 1-8) to complete the series sweep Sunday afternoon.
* Willamatte University used four triples in the first six innings to chase Whitman starter Jake Nelson, a former Kennewick star, in an 11-4 Northwest Conference victory in Walla Walla.
