Sometimes it's hard to crack a lineup when you're a freshman, but former Southridge baseball star Ty Jackson might have made the Washington State Cougars sit up and take notice with his three-run shot Monday against No. 6 UCLA.
The Cougars ended up beating the Bruins 10-4, and Jackson also was in the lineup later that day as the designated hitter in an 11-1 victory at Long Beach State.
Jackson and his twin brother, Bryce, have not seen a lot of playing time this season -- Ty has gotten 15 at-bats over his nine games, and left-hander Bryce has a 3.38 ERA in 2 2/3 innings -- but their mother, Monica, said they are having a great time at WSU.
