Volunteers needed for Badger Mountain trail work this weekend

Published: March 6, 2012

The Friends of Badger Mountain, led by trailmaster Jim Langdon, will hold a work party this weekend to build new section of the Canyon Trail.

Gail Everett, who runs the city of Richland's Green Living Office, today passed along the Friends of Badger Mountain news release:

Lots of volunteers are needed as we replace the rocky section on Windy Ridge with a new trail to the north. Work starts at 8:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

To sign up, e-mail or call Langdon at 943-3992. His is organizing the work crews. Volunteers must bring work gloves, water, snacks and lunch.

To read more about the work party, go to the group's website.

Hikers: This weekend, the Canyon Trail will be closed at the top of the steps. Instead, take the newer Sagebrush Trail to the top of Badger.
