Jr. Americans split pair at state hockey tournament

The Tri-Cities Jr. American Midget 18U Division split its PNAHA State Tier II Hockey Tournament double feature Saturday at the Toyota Arena, surviving to advance into today's semifinal round, but the TC Jr. Americans' PeeWee 12U Division found itself swept by its competitors in games split between the arena and TRAC Pavilion.

The 18U Americans bounced back with a 3-2 besting of the SnoKing Jr. Thunderbirds after a 4-3 morning loss to the Spokane Jr. Chiefs and will play in a semifinal against the SJHA NW Admirals 11:30 a.m. today at Toyota Arena.

The winner of the Americans-Admirals tilt will play for the championship 5:30 p.m. against the winner of an 11:30 a.m. semi featuring Spokane Jr. Chiefs vs. Wenatchee Jr. Wild at TRAC Pavilion.
