* 1985: It was reported that both Kamiakin basketball teams were ranked in the weekly state poll. The Kamiakin boys (17-4) were ninth in Class AAA and the girls (20-1) fourth. Both teams were set to play host to Richland later in the week for the Big Nine Conference district championships.
