Garett Turner had 16 points, Hayden Fullerton added 15 more and Kroft Sunderland rounded out Dayton's double-digit scoring attack with 10 points to lift Dayton to a 57-56 victory over Waitsburg-Prescott in the Southeast 2B boys District 9 championship on Monday at Whitman College in Walla Walla.
"It was a well hard-fought game," Dayton coach Roy Ramirez said. "As far as what gave us the edge, we moved the ball well. Sharing the basketball was key, they (Waitsburg-Prescott) couldn't focus on one kid.
"I'm proud of the guys, the way they played, persevered, to win it."
The Bulldogs earned the No. 1 seed out of District 9, while the Cardinals got the No. 2 seed.
