1988: Lane Schumacher hit 9 of 15 from the field for a game-high 23 points, and Heath Dolven added 17 to lift Kamiakin to a 71-60 home win over Davis in the second round of the Big Nine District playoffs. The Braves' 6-foot-5 center, Dustin Smith, was a perfect 7 for 7 from the field to chip in 14 points.

1972: The Northwest League Board of Directors approved the transfer of the Bend, Ore., baseball franchise to Seattle, assuring a six-team league for the following summer. Seattle would join Spokane and Lewiston in the Northern Division, while the Southern Division would consist of Tri-City, Coos Bay and Walla Walla.
