OTHELLO -- Five people were injured in an accident at 6:49 a.m. Saturday southwest of Othello, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Gerardo Chavez Romero, 23, of Othello, was driving a pickup west on Highway 24 about nine miles from Othello when the pickup left the highway, according to the police report. The pickup rolled and came to rest on its wheels.
Chavez Romero and four passengers in the pickup were taken to Othello Community Hospital. All were wearing seat belts. The passengers were Josefina Romero Angel, 43; Amadeu Romero Vargas, 17; Emilion Romero Valasquez, 17; and Omar Romero Lopez, 18, all of Othello.
All were released after treatment except for Omar Romero Lopez, who was transferred to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. He was in satisfactory condition Saturday.
