* 1989 -- Sam Vaught scored 10 points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds to lead the Richland girls basketball team to a 49-39 Big Nine win over Eisenhower at Davis High School in Yakima. With the win, the Bombers earned the No. 6 seed into the Big Nine district tournament.

* 1977 -- A 710 series by Jim Snow led him to four titles -- doubles, handicap all-events, high scratch game and high scratch series -- in the eighth Washington Tri-City Bowling Association men's tournament.

* 1969 -- The Columbia-Burbank boys basketball team clinched third place in the Blue Mountain Conference with a 72-51 home win over the Prescott Tigers. Bob Meloy and John Dillon combined for 27 points to pace the Coyotes, while freshman Les Litzenburger added 13 rebounds.
