PASCO -- Delaney Hodgins scored 18 points and Bianca Gonzales played strong defense to spark the Chiawana girls basketball team to a 53-22 victory Saturday against visiting Richland in a District 5/6 Tournament semifinal game.
"We played a really good defensive game," Chiawana coach Steve Davis said. "We tried to limit Britney Pringle on her shot attempts, and Bianca Gonzales did a good job for us."
Pringle was the Bombers' leading scorer with seven points.
Next up for the Riverhawks (16-3) is the district title game against Walla Walla (15-6), which Chiawana beat twice this season.
"It's really tough to play somebody three games, so we're going to have to execute and play well as a team," Davis said.
