Shalom United Church of Christ is sponsoring "Evolution Weekend."

Mark Taff, anthropology professor at Columbia Basin College, will speak at the regular 10 a.m. service Sunday.

Taff will discuss the conversations he has with his students on the topic of evolution.

The church's goal is to go beyond a discussion of Darwin's theory of evolution and instead discuss the relationship between religion and science.

The talk will take place at the church, 505 McMurray St., Richland.
