Don't blame the breed

In the '70s, they blamed the Dobermans. In the '80s they blamed the German shepherds. In the '90s they blamed the Rottweilers, and now they blame the pit bulls. When will they start blaming humans?

Lots of dogs can be vicious and mean -- it all depends on how good of an owner the dog has. Unlike a bear or cougar or any other wild animal, no domestic pet is born to fight in a ring with other pets or participate in any other vicious act. That is something taught to the dog by an abusive and terribly sad excuse for an owner.

We have cities and counties creating different laws when it comes to owning pit bulls. It makes no difference. The dog either has a great home and wonderful owner or not! So it's not OK for a great pet owner and great dog live in the city without keeping the family dog from playing in the yard or even doing its business, because it's a pit bull and for no other reason? But it is ok if you live in the county to possibly be a terrible pet owner and be the kind of jerk who trains and owns vicious fighting dogs? Vicious is man made.
