There is such a gap in the thinking between the average American and those who hold a congressional office it's like night and day.
I find it unusual to say the least that people can pass legislation that not only favors them but makes them rich on top of it. That is just wrong on so many levels.
They are awarded health care that cost them little and is subsidized by taxpayers and lifetime government pension benefits the rest of us can only dream of.
They can, in the dead of night, vote themselves a pay increase!
Other "perks" include free travel, limousine service and millions of dollars so they can create a favorable public image.
Lobbyists heap millions on their re-election campaigns to gain favor.
To me this is all wrong! Congress should never be able to enact any legislation or law that directly benefits its members. Our representatives should have to live by the same laws they voted in for the rest of us to live by. None of them should be there to line his or her own pockets at our expense!
