The death of a 61-year-old Connell man in a waste water pond at ConAgra has been ruled an accidental drowning.

Xay Sidamdouane is suspected of having a heart attack, which caused him to fall into the pond and drown on Saturday, said Franklin County Coroner Dan Blasdel.

The pond had about 3 feet of water in it, he said.

Sidamdouane complained about not feeling well when he was at work that morning and said he had heartburn, Blasdel said.

He then went out to check the water levels in the ponds about 9:30 a.m., which was part of his work duties.

Sidamdouane was found in the pond around 3:30 p.m., Blasdel said.

The autopsy showed he had a heart attack, but there also was water in his lungs and stomach, Blasdel said.
