Carousel project

Here I sit doing something I said I would never do, writing a letter to the editor. I would like the people of the Tri-Cities to hear why I decided put forth an effort to build this carousel.

My motivation does not come from a love of carousels. My motivation is simply improve quality of life and assist in making Tri-Cities a better place to live and raise a family. Years ago several people had a vision to bring this carousel to life. That dream was plagued by obstacles but through it all the foundation survived. The board is bigger, stronger and more motivated than ever to see this project completed.

I understand there still will be opposition. But before you criticize, I invite you to join us and see the level of optimism and spirit for this legacy project.

This 1910 Charles Carmel Carousel is a national treasure and, in my opinion, so is the Tri-Cities. I think we deserve each other.

I urge you to support this project as we go forward and I'm confident when it's completed you will be glad you helped bring this treasure to life.
